Teeth cleaning: Cleaning teeth that have a lot of plaque usually require the dog to have a general anaesthetic I can clean and descale teeth, as your hygienist would, on certain dogs but obviously not all of them will tolerate it! Please ask for further details, the younger the dog, the easier it will be.
Anal-gland expressing: The anal glands, or anal sacs, are small glands found near the anus in dogs and cats. They are paired sacs located on either side of the anus. They secrete a liquid that is used for identification of members within a species, and the liquid produced usually smells foul to humans. Some dogs have a problem in that the gland does not empty naturally as it should when they pass faeces, especially if they have soft/runny faeces. It can be very uncomfortable and requires manually expressing, usually on a fairly frequent basis. This is better when we do this during a bath as it is a bit smelly! Please inform us before commencing grooming if your pet needs this service.
